10. Load Cases

The Load Cases panel allows generating new load case entries, rename them, and populate them with selections from the pool of boundary conditions previously created.

Fig. 10.1 shows a multi-load case car (load paths) optimization setup. The padlock icon means the analysis is complete and setup cannot be modified until the model is cloned from the dashboard.

When generating a new model setup, the clone button, next to an existing load case entry, allows for fast load case generation by editing the boundary conditions on the cloned entries, and renaming them.

Tip

It is recommended for CAE teams to name load cases sensibly to aid templating for similar applications and projects.

The Finite Element (preliminary & validation) analysis in Möbius generates a text results file (CSV), which makes use of load case names to allow plotting of structural performance metrics such as: total strain energies or stiffness for fast & informed design comparisons.

This helps to identify worst load cases at a glance, as well as contenders for best design direction at concept stage of a design project.
